Prof. Jeremy Hodgen

 

Jeremy Hodgen is Professor of Mathematics Education at the University of Nottingham, having previously been Professor of Mathematics Education at King’s College London. He has conducted many research projects, including Increasing Competence and Confidence in Algebra and Multiplicative Structures (ICCAMS) and several comparative studies examining participation in upper secondary mathematics. He was joint-coordinator of the UK Economic and Social Research Council’s Targeted Initiative in Science and Mathematics Education (TISME). He has published widely on mathematics education, teacher education, and formative assessment. He is currently examining ways of grouping students and collaborating on projects in South Africa and Scotland Prior to his academic career, he taught mathematics in primary and secondary schools in London.
